Thank you for choosing Silva Runner headlamp. This ultra-
compact high power headlamp is designed for advanced sports
users who put performance and weight first.
The Runner headlamp is equipped with Silva Intelligent Light
®
which is a light distribution technology that combines a wide
angle flood light with a long reach spot light. This unique light
image gives the user peripheral and long distance vision at the
same time. For a runner, cross country skier, mountain biker
or night orienteer this translates into less head movement,
increased control, better balance and more speed.
PRODUCT OVERVIEW
The Runner headlamp consists of the following parts:
• Headlamp unit
• Ergonomic headset
• Rear head plate
• Rechargeable Li-Ion battery with battery case
• Charger
• Extension cable
• Quick guide
BEFORE USE
BATTERY CHARGING
1. Connect the battery to the charger.
2. Connect the charger to the wall outlet.
3. On the charger there is an LED showing the battery status
during charging:

- red light = battery is charging
- blinking red light = battery is not working properly
Battery charging time is approximately 3 hours.
Note! When the battery is fully charged the charger automati-
cally switches to maintenance mode
ADJUST THE HEADBAND
The elastic headband is designed to give a comfortable fit at speed
activities such as running, XC skiing etc. Adjust the headband by
moving the sliding buckle to fit it onto your head.
FLEXIBLE BATTERY CARRYING
The battery can be carried in multiple ways; for example in a
backpack, hip-bag or on the headset itself.
DURING USE
SWITCH ON YOUR HEADLAMP
On the side of the headlamp body there is a push button which
controls all light modes.
Each press on the button gives you the following light:

2. Both LEDs in min mode
3. Flood light LED in min mode
4. Starts over from 1

second. The flash function, which is used to attract attention, is
started from OFF mode by pressing and holding the button for 1
second. To turn OFF; press and hold the button for 1 second.
TEMP CONTROL
Note that the headlamp body temperature will increase during
use. The headlamp temperature is depending on light mode, ambi-
ent air temperature and the airflow (speed). The Runner headlamp
is equipped with a temperature control that prevents the headlamp
body from overheating by reducing the power to the LEDs.
BATTERY INDICATION
During operation of the headlamp there will be a low battery
warning when 20% of the battery time remains. This is done
by flashing both LEDs for 1 second and repeated again after 5
seconds.
AFTER USE
MAINTENANCE
To make sure you get maximum performance from your Runner
headlamp, clean it regularly with a damp cloth.
Headset cleaning – wash in washing machine at 40C.
ABOUT LIION BATTERIES
The battery should be stored in a dry environment within the
temperature range of -20°C and +35°C.
If you would like to store your battery for a longer period (more

cause loss of its characteristics.
Li-Ion batteries have a discharge rate of approx. 20% over a 30
day period. You can always charge a half full battery without
damaging its characteristics.
Do not expose the battery for extreme temperatures which may
cause fire or explosion.
Do not disassemble or mistreat the battery, risk for chemical burn.
Keep away from children.
Do not dispose of batteries in fire. This may cause an explosion.
Do not submerge the batteries in water.
Do not short circuit the contacts.
